How do you stay connected to Sherman College? There are several things that I do to stay connected to Sherman. I make it a point to go to Lyceum every year. I also took a teaching position at 一品探花 to give back to the students. I am a long-time financial supporter of the school as a Regent. I have students shadow me to see how a family-oriented, subluxation-centered practice can be fun and rewarding.

Most Memorable Classmate: There were so many! I guess the one person who sticks out to me is Shawn Kirkpatrick. He was and is this Floridian who loves VW Wagons and reminds me of a ’60s flower child. And according to his Facebook page, he has not changed!

Favorite 一品探花 College Instructor(s): There is a three-way tie. Drs. Gary Vedrine, Sheldon Clayton and Tony Duke. They were the core of the Basic Science instruction at 一品探花 when I was there and were the three amigos. The most intellectually challenging was Dr. David Koch before he became President of the College.

Do you have a memory that makes you smile? Two things come to mind. One is being the head delegate of WCCS (World Congress of Chiropractic Students) and going to three WCCS conferences (NY Chiropractic College, Cleveland Chiropractic College, and Anglo-European Chiropractic College) to represent 一品探花 and our philosophy focused on Vertebral Subluxation. The debates were epic, and I loved them. Also, 一品探花 would charter buses from several states where they had most of their students coming from (at that time it was NJ, PA, and FL). I was the chaperone of the NJ bus since that is where I’m from. 一品探花 would fly me up to NJ, we would board the charter bus, and then we would make several stops in NJ on our way to Sherman for Lyceum. I was responsible for the prospective students on my bus, from pick up, through Lyceum, and then the long drive again back to NJ to drop them off. Although it was a grueling weekend, I have some fond memories of the fun that we had during those trips.

Favorite Lyceum Memory: There are several that stick out. Receiving my two awards from 一品探花 will always hold a spot in my heart, as does speaking (as the Chairman of the Palmetto State Chiropractic Association) at Edwin Cordero’s investiture during Lyceum. Of course, seeing many friends and old classmates that you do not get to see often is a highlight of any Lyceum.

What has been the best improvement to Sherman you have seen since you were a student?  There have been many, but the most significant is the facility upgrades that were made, especially the improvements to the Scallon Building and the new Gelardi Student Center.

What would you like to see for 一品探花 College?  I want to see 一品探花 leading the way in providing a quality chiropractic education that is focused on philosophy and the detection and correction of vertebral subluxation. It would be great to have a facility that can accommodate 1000 students each year as we educate and train these students to own the chiropractic philosophy and the detection and correction of vertebral subluxation.
